The Adana Chamber of Commerce (ATO) initiated a competition to design its new office building, and our team conceptualized a ‘breathing building’ that responds thoughtfully to the Mediterranean climate. By strategically relocating circulation pathways to the facade at the office levels, we ensure that the working spaces remain cooler during the sweltering summers of Adana. The ground floor design features a proposed setback that not only creates a shaded entrance during the day but also expands the public space available for the chamber’s evening events. This approach not only enhances the functionality of the building but also fosters community engagement, allowing the space to serve as a vibrant hub for both business and social activities.
